Hi, I am new here and may have just messed up by posting this as an answer instead of a new thread. On Tues, December 27th my husband received a one time payment from Social Security. The date of the payment shows as December 28th. Today is December 29th and he has not received the direct deposit. Should he be getting it soon or does Social Security only release funds on Wednesdays which would be January 4th? Thank you for any information you can give us, very much appreciated.

How did he receive the notice? Mail, phone??

From working with employee direct deposits, their can be a delay if your bank receives their information from another bank. At any rate I would expect to see it tomorrow or Saturday at the latest.

I was told by SS that they post only on Wed when my SO had a messed up direct deposit. Now that was for a retirement benefit.
You can call them and they should be able to tell you when it will post.
