We get to know each other on these boards. The frequent posters are a relatively small community. We get to know portions of each others life stories, and each person has a distinct and often valuable perspective.

Who would you want to meet and talk to over some coffee or beer in real life?

I think posters would share/reveal less over coffee or beer than they do here.

I meet VERY interesting people everyday, (Here as well)

but ''Here" is 'Hollywood' / facade... maybe real, maybe not (you can discern)... but here... it is VERY EZ to be SAFE or to HIDE or EXPRESS yourself (EZ on all, except the OCD's )

In general... a personal 'meet-up' could be VERY disappointing, as some people are EXCELLENT 'written' communicators but may not be able to carry on a conversation with a toad (that is OK!!!) some of us LIKE toads (and strange people).

I have met many C-Drs, I have never been disappointed. People are Valuable BEYOND measure, and each has a very special story lurking behind the facade. Some are UP-FRONT! (same as 'on-air' / C-D) All are very different than you would ever expect (That is the nice 'surprise')

Undoubtedly.... some are Axe Murderers (let's not meet-up )

I don't think it would be bad and maybe interesting. We share some commonality, well at least a little. For sure we are beyond the internet ninja posting from their parents basement (I face some of those in other forums)

Actually, I have done it. I met up with another frequent poster in the Seattle area forum, over a beer at a local alehouse. We had an enjoyable chat and will probably get together again some time soon.
