oooh to bad . it was a good way to have money coming in while delaying .

to many were getting wise to the ploys of delaying so it was brought to an end .

ChessieMom's answer pretty much sums it up (and what I was afraid I was going to hear): zip!

Having a hard time, could have used even a bit of extra, but oh well.

What happens if a spouse or ex-spouse, who has a good earning record (let's say more than 35 years of maximum SS contributions) dies before reaching age 62 and collecting any benefit at all?

When the unmarried survivor reaches FRA, what if any kind of benefit can he or she claim on the ex-spouse's earning record?
