My sister and I are looking for a friendly, politically conservative, Christian friendly place to move to. We are car less people as we spent our entire lives in cities with good public transportation but we want to live differently now. A smallish city would be great; hopefully, a walking friendly place.

We don't have a lot of money and we're looking to rent. I'd love to live in a small house.

Hope to different kinds of climates except for extremely hot, humid summers. They make us literally sick.

Sorry if I sound picky but we'd like to age gracefully in a happy place. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Which pretty much eliminates the south and most conservative Christian towns.

I'll suggest one of the towns with a good christian college
(rather than the heathen liberal sort of colleges that most would be pointed toward)

Poke around on the list:

Small College town in the mtns. (With public transit, and available transportation to a city / airport)

Glenwood Springs, CO is on a train route.

Colorado can be pretty liberal,

Check into Spearfish and Sturgis SD.

Sheridan and Powell WY are very nice, but not sure of public transit and FAR from an airport.

Bozeman is very nice.

PNW is 'cool' and still has seasons and lots of places with public transit (but liberal states)

Lynden, Washington. It's about 10 miles from the US/Canadian Border, is quite conservative considering that it is in Western Washington, not the Bible Belt. It is small, very walkable, with a Dutch themed downtown.

Otherwise I agree with the poster that suggested looking for a town that has a Christian college - how about Lynchburg, Virginia - home to Liberty University?

Shangri-La!

Or, of course, you could give more information, like what you can afford per month, if you need particular medical facilities, if you can handle snow, need to be by beaches......

Otherwise, just Google Shangri-La and you'll be home free. The place with no problems, everything you need, and anyone can afford.
