there you go .

that is exactly what we all said . the problem with financial advice you get from friends and others without any real knowledge of things is that you can end up parroting wrong information .

you see it here all the time ,especially in the area of retirement.

most folks learned what they know from other mis-informed people and old wives tales that just won't die .

i have spent years here on these forums debunking many of them .

I just meant "here we go again"...

I was told just now on the phone by our retirement experts that, if you choose this route, as soon as you become SS eligible -- at age 62 -- you begin taking SS, and your pension check is then reduced from what it would otherwise have been (for life). That's how OUR "early option" works, anyway. YMMV.

...although how someone wouldn't know they're getting money from their pension plan instead of Soc. Sec. or confuses a pension plan option with Soc. Sec. -- is beyond me.....

most folks are clueless about any of this stuff .

that is why there is so much myth and old wives tales that circulate and won't die

financial ignorance is more likely the culprit so folks just parrot mis-information and adopt those views as their own .
