I thought the baby boomers were the ones with the reputation for promiscuity!

And, you'll never be able to tell the real time: 5 O'Clock always.

I kind of like the idea of a baby boomer oriented community. The golf cart communities appeal to me and having one that actually has stores and restaurants as a part of the community would be great. But not at Daytona Beach and not one with a reputation for promiscuity like The Villages. Just normal people in a normal community with restaurants, shops and classic rock and roll. If someone could create that, they'd make lots of money.
Not sure if you are aware but the population of The Villages, FL is 157,000. That is a huge number of people, and if the majority of them were living the Sodom & Gomorrah lifestyle the Dept. of Health would probably have to close the place down. I know a number of individuals that live in this community, and their biggest complaint is it has become too large and lost it's sense of community.

One can find whatever lifestyle they are looking for in any of these communities. One man who made one visit to The Villages and wrote a book about his ? factual experiences does not define an entire community and all the individuals that live there.

If The Villages was 1/2 the size it is now and located within a relatively short drive to the ocean I would probably already own a home there.

I would love to be surrounded by Margaritaville types rather than big band, bingo types. It has an air of oomph unlike some of these 55+ pre-death conclaves.

This is SMART BUSINESS, folks. The ranks of retiring baby boomers is swelling by more and more every day. I say, invest in retirement services, health care services, mortuary services, etc. There's a lot of money in the hands of these people and the pile continues to expand as I type this.

Last year, I was fortunate to do a mortgage as a mortgage broker on a new home in The Villages.
The couple that purchased this home were from my area and are just wonderful people.

Their habits are moderate and their new home is truly just lovely. It was considered a designer home.

Anyway, I just heard from them and they are just loving The Villages - every bit of it. Could not say enough good things about it - this couple would not fit the mold of a questionable reputation and like I said, their habits are moderate but they feel they fit in and they love their choice.

PS - Yes, we do plan to visit them when we ever get a few days off! LOL.

Smile And this comment would also be from me....

This is from a post above but it goes for me also.

I love the beach but also want to find a community where there are a lot of social activities - if there is one thing I regret, it is this in my life. So, I would like to have more social in my future life!!
