When repping a post, how does one also add a written comment? I know I appreciate comments from people and would like to take part when I rep someone. Thx.

At the top right of your posting box there is a little icon of 'scales', in between the post # and the red and white triangle. Click on the scales, not the "rate the post positively" button that you usually use. Up pops a comment box! Cool, isn't it.

It may not work when using a tablet. At least it doesn't on mine.

I didn't know about the scales! Thanks luv4horses.

I just click on the "Rate this post positively" with the scroll wheel and I get the message box in a new tab.

The scales thing works on my tablet (iPad), and I like it also. What I can't figure out is how you change the little description under your screen name from "Senior Member" to something more interesting.

One thing to keep in mind when leaving a rep comment is that if you do not type in your user name, it will not appear. (Unlike when you send a direct message). I sometimes receive real nice rep comments, but I don't know who sent them, and I wonder if people think their user name will automatically be included.

Of course some posters mis-use that in order to leave anonymous nastigrams, but that is against the rules here and the moderators can see who sent the comment even if the recipient cannot.

Here's a 3 page thread on that subject.

Well, thanks, but I still can't find it! I've tried Firefox instead of Safari. I've tried enlarging the screen as someone suggested. Gandalara (on 11-26-2014) posted a screenshot of what I should be seeing under Edit Your Details, but the Custom User Title option from her screenshot doesn't appear on my screen.

A mystery . . .

It says you need 200 posts along with membership length. Try making another 82 quick posts and see if that helps.

Try some of the "nonsense" threads.
