A few people at work were wheeled out on guerneys and didn't return. I just had a vision that the next guy toes up on the guerney would be me. I retired at 58 1/2 with a decent pension and a paid off mortgage. Stayed home a year and got bored. Went back to work for two more years and retired at 62 when my first SS check arrived. We downsized and moved from NYC to Southern NJ. We are both fully retired about 8 years. Never had a desire to go back to work. We are not extravagant but don't deny ourselves whatever we want. We enjoy our hobbies and each other's company. Married 44 years.

What made you retire? Pension enough? Tired of Rat Race?

All of the above. Been retired now for 20 yrs. I'm now 69 yrs old and still enjoy my retirement with my wife.
