My husband and I are retired and considering a move to Concord, NH. We want to live in a small city where we can safely walk to restaurants, movies and other entertainment. Can anyone tell us about Concord? Is it a safe city to live in and are there enough things to do to keep a person busy? If you know of any other small cities in New Hampshire that would be nice to live in please feel free to give your opinion on those as well. Thank you!

yes, if you go to the New Hampshire forum and search Concord, there's lots of info there. Concord is a nice city, I believe it's the state capital. It's in a good location in that the main highways go thru there so you can easily get to all the other areas of NH too. Easy drive to the Lakes region.
Not a lot to do, but maybe as good as it gets in NH.
A friend of mine is moving to Nashua from the countryside. She is part of a downtown revival- has a music studio/performing venue that is attracting a lot of attention. She is very much a person who prefers a walkable, urbane community, and likes downtown Nashua. It does appear to be on its way to be a fine smaller city. (Money magazine ranked it #1 twice, which surprised me). I think Nashua might be better than Concord, and has more access to the positives of the Mass. seacoast towns, and everything Boston/Cambridge.
(Disclaimer- I live 20 miles south of Nashua in Mass., lived in and around Cambridge for many years, and still go in for food adventures).
