Learning a lot by this thread that old people don't necessarily get wiser with age - can't let little superficial pet peeve annoyances go. They allow things to gnaw on them until they completely lose patience. Just gotta shake your head......

What does wisdom have to do with it? I know a lot of smart, older people who still don't want kids playing on their lawn!

I see that as more of a personality trait/issue, which has nothing to do with wisdom.

Age-related frustration rather than impatience: symbols instead of words.

I sure hope to God they're wrong: start out as an infant, become a child, a teenager, an adult, and there's the circle of life! On my way back to diapers? And bibs? Throwing childish tantrums? Sucking my thumb?

This is the third or fourth time you've weighed in criticizing people who simply want to have a little fun with online venting about things that probably don't really irritate them THAT much in real life.

We get it - you're far superior to any of the "old people" posting here.

I suppose others love the journey? It helps to have company, which I usually don't.
I've always been a worrying Nellie behind the wheel of a car, and you overlooked another stress factor: getting a very expensive traffic fine! That happened on my last car trip. It happened during one of my last, regrettable senior moments: a trip from Las Vegas to southern Oregon! Halfway there, I realized I had made a major mistake! And, trying to speed things up: a $200 ticket!

Sheesh! Just a one hour flight! Why can't we get there faster!!!

Long distance driving trips: completely out of the question!!! @70MPH I feel like I'm standing still! 3 more hours to go?

Oh Lord! Urination!! How long do I have to stand here for the last drop to exit!!! Time to get a Texas catheter?
Wisdom told to me by Pappy: No matter how you shake and dance, the last few drops go in the pants.

It helps to have a great sound system with excellent tune-age.

You laugh, but diapers and bibs are a reality of many people in nursing homes. You never know what will become of you. We must enjoy life while we can...
