Oh, I hear this from So Many of "show me the science folks"....read the new book Pandora's Lab
book from National Geo. I know this does not interest you but others may want to put it on their list of books to read:
I do put a lot of trust in the National Geo organization.
The book is not from National Geographic, it is from Penguin Books. The fact that it may be purchased from National Geographic's online store does not indicate that National Geographic endorses it in any way.
You misinterpreting this relationship is not at all surprising. Neither is your idea that the book does anything at all to advance your claims of random substances being health benefits.

Oh, another C-D member brought the book to our attention and talked about NGeo endorsing it blah blah and so I took his word, I guess, just goes to show... I'm not buying the book as I read a very LONG review on Amazon and that was plenty for me to know what each chapter talks about. The author knocks Vit C in the book and I take probably 2-3K mg of Vit C daily.
I'll stick with the mind opening words from a book I bought about 20 yrs ago: The Medical Mafia, and yes the author had to give up her medical license in Canada for coming out with this book.
Medical knowledge from 20 years ago is like using tech from 20 years ago.
Anyways.... I am waiting for this book from the library, and I'll read his on supplements too.
I'm not anti supplement per say, my doctors are pro for the ones that have data to back them up, my main concern is that studies have shown that 30% of supplements tested do not CONTAIN the actual supplement.

20 yrs ago people were being harmed by drugs and this doctor author wrote a lot about the AIDS epidemic and many dying etc etc...my cousin died during that period of time. Offit is not the god of knowing it all, I'm sure. But who knows it ALL? I never heard of Offit until now.

Obviously she was willing to go that route for what she believed. A doctor in our town lost his license as he thought and treated OUTSIDE THE BOX of allopathic medicine. He now still works in his 80's but as a naturopath. I heard him lecture a lot in our town. And even went to his medical clinic but saw a couple other associates.
How many people go thru life working for a paycheck and NOT liking or enjoying what they have to do due to the establishment rules/regulations. I had some jobs of my 40 yrs working that I resisted their rules but needed their paycheck.
