I've never listened to "oldies" radio since they don't play the good stuff.

I was raised on classical, jazz, opera, folk, Broadway musicals, standards, and whatever happened to be playing on the radio or TV.

I got older, and added in gospel, 'foreign,' and bluegrass as an occasional seasoning. Was very resistent to the Beatles when they first came along, probably due to the way people reacted to them. I enjoy them now.

I can't stand rap, hip-hop, metal, or anything screechy. And I sometimes get tired of most rock music (but not rock 'n' roll).

These days I seem to prefer a mix of the stuff I was raised on.
