A paper route...forget my age, ten or twelve. At 14 I worked part-time in a drug store - a half hour before school and then from about fourish to seven on school days, all day Saturday and all day six days a week in the summers. For a kid I was loaded with my own spending money.

Howard Johnson's snack bar, exit four on the Jersey Turnpike. $1.60/hour. Turquoise and white uniform. 1969, with so many people flowing by on their way to Woodstock.

Summer job in high school - short order cook on a day-tripper fishing boat (held about 50-75 people) out of tarpon Springs, FL. Cooked until we stopped to start fishing, then sold a lot of Dramamine for the rest of the trip. Tried to tell people to take it before they felt sick, but very few listened to me.

Babysitting for neighbours for blocks around... made .25 cents an hour, and used to babysit baby siblings every Friday night while mom and dad grocery shopped. No official pay when babysitting baby siblings, but I did enjoy fringe-benefits as a result of. Also babysat baby siblings when needed (outside of Friday nights).
