Through work, one. And a half. That's a guy I met when he did some work for me on our ranch.

this is a hard question because what would I consider a life long friend? If you consider my top 5 best friends, then zero. But there's a couple of people i am quite fond of that i met from work. But usually work friends come and go when either they change jobs or you do. I like to call it the "out of sight-out of mind" principle.

Three or four. One I actually worked with at some other workplaces. One I kept in touch with for years, though I never worked with him again. He's now retired.

One . We aren't close like when in our teens. We've though kept in touch and seen each other thru the milestone moments..

I have 5 really close friends I met at work. One came to dinner last night, and I'll see another one next Thursday. One of my work friends is one of my besties. One is a life long bachelor like the one who came to dinner last night. We're like brother and sister. I have a few more that I keep in touch with via Facebook or by phone. There's 76 of them. I guess most of my friends came from work.

My workfriends I keep at work.

Nothing lifelong... I've worked for almost 50 years - over the years employed in about a dozen jobs.

I have much closer friends I've met through family and other circumstances that mean so much more.

This last job is the longest I have been employed in one place - now at 16 and a half years. The longest prior was 8 years - but that was long ago.

I've had many jobs - but moved on after. I may keep in touch with one or two at this job.... but moving to another state in retirement - I doubt we'll be close.

I've kept in frequent touch with two friends I had made while working. We live far apart, but communicate frequently via phone and e-mail at least a couple of times a week, and this has been going on for over 10 years now.

One. A 30 year friendship. We both met when we lived in the DC area. It's 24 years that I've moved back to Chicago; she retired from the federal govt and moved to rural Penna. We talk on the phone several times a week. I've seen her only twice----once when visiting her at her vacation house in rural VA and she visited me once. We're long overdue. I hope to go to see her this fall.

A true friend is like gold. So blessed to have her!
