It's in the Retirement Forum, same as this one is. See the thread title in the lineup of threads--it usually hovers around the most recent page.

Or Google: city data forum retiring on a literal shoestring

Note that there has been quite a bit of chat about the use of the word "literal" in the title--don't even go there. "I meant what I said and I said what I meant"--literal is literal, 100 per cent.

Because many of us will be eating the same food as our dogs.

Unlike some people, we need to be prepared for the worst.

Have any of you heard the term "deprivation mentality?" I personally believe that such a thing exists, and impacts what you attract into your life . . . I am not saying this to criticize . . .anyone who is interested in learning other ways to think that might positively impact your life might do an inventory of your financial history (starting from your family of origin . . . think about the messages you got about money . . .see if you have internalized any of these messages . . .they could be impacting you).

There is a lot you can do to learn how to reprogram your mind on this issue.

A bit late for most of us, who have already retired with whatever we have The name of the game now is frugal.

There are lots of possibilities outside of conventional "wisdom" on the subject. If you are so inclined, you (meaning anyone who is interested) can find them.

Best of luck!

I agree.
People aren't as helpless as some claim to be when it comes to survival.

I'd eat my dogs, first, if I was that bad off but we don't own any. Thankfully we live rurally with copious quantities of wildlife which can make good eats.
