Now that I'm nearing 55, AND my OH is heading for 59, and given my once vibrant red beard is now mostly gray(98%, just a hint of red still left), we often pick a "senior" or "55 And over" menu entree item.
We've never been asked to prove it, lol.

I find the smaller senior sized meals to be just right, or still leave me with leftovers. Prices not necessarily great, compared to the regular quantity and price, but it works for us.

Then we ask for the AARP discount. Removes any doubt I guess, lol.

So which menu entree s do you order? Regular or "senior"???

Never saw a special senior menu. And in restaurants and stores, I always forget to ask for a senior or AARP discount.

If I can't finish my meal, I take the leftovers home for lunch the next day.

Yes and sometimes the child's serving. I can't eat as much as I used to eat. And no leftovers.

Regular although haven’t seen a senior in awhile. We love leftovers and often especially at Chinese order with that in mind

I was surprised that a new local place relented into us ordering the child's sized hamburger. I thought - gee - we are still paying for it - nothing is free. What is the big deal.

The regular version can feed two people.

I've only seen senior discounts at places like ihop and Denny's. We don't even have those two places around here and I don't like them that much anyway.

If you go to a regular restaurant, can you really ask for a senior discount? I mean a restaurant, not a chain. I'd like to get a small serving and pay less but I don't think that's an option around here.

I get a senior discount when I get my hair cut and there's a price list right on the wall. It has a child discount and a senior discount.

I' ve seen senior meals offered once or twice. I prefer regular though. I like to take home leftovers. Heck, I live on leftovers.

Senior, every time it's offered.
But more often than not, we have something left to box up. We also make sure to tip based upon what the "regular" price would have been.

Not many 'senors' offered in a tourist town (Destin), but, since my wife doesn't eat much, we often split meals at larger portion restaurants (otherwise, I wind-up eating 1.5 meals, which I really don't need to do). In a sense, we create our own 'senior specials.'

The problem I see with many senior menus is the selection is limited. I'm not 60 yet anyways and I don't see many opportunities for the discount. But once in a while, a cashier will look at me and automatically give me one!!!
