Did they ignore it?

How does one protect themselves from this?

I have been doing some reading about this and many times it is a caregiver you pay(your employee) who turns you in or has some kind of a monetary arrangement with a person who wants to take your money in a guardianship situation. I wonder if it would provide some degree of protection if they had to sign a NDA(non disclosure agreement) as a condition of employment?

Sadly, it is and I call them geriatric gangsters. About 2 and a half years ago I posted this website:
https://stopguardianabuse.org/victims/ (check the "In Memoriam" at the bottom of the page).

LookingatFL and bungalowdweller have given two stories about guardianship abuse. It is very hard
to fight the county and/or state when the attorneys, judges, legal assistants and even medical professionals have unlimited financial resources. In addition "they" are a well connected
network who collaborate with each other.
The majority of people trying to fight for their loved ones do not have thousands of dollars to
fight the these county or private guardian companies which can take years. They do have a
specific strategy and the means to win and bleed the victims accounts.
