we will get about 2% but the jury is still out on what medicare and a drug plan will be taking .

Again 2% applied to what benefit amount makes a difference

$26 per month increase (for me) if there is not a Medicare increase

it's okay, but nothing special certainly

(I get the average amount monthly (the most common) of those on Social Security.)

I'm doing fine, so not complaining. I realize that many others very much need the increase and it should be more for those people.

I'll believe it when I see it.. SS widow benefits have NOT increase for past 3 years!!! Given present Lawmakers and confusions I rather doubt any benefits will trickle down to Survivors of WAR Veterans !! SS checks have been frozen for over 3 years and even when COL increases kicked in was minimal!! A few dollars a month BACK in the DAY!!

Meanwhile.. Corporate folks make off like bandits with multi-millions in "Bonus" funds based on hedge funds and bailouts they get.. It's a perk for FUNDING Lobbyists that FUND those Lawmakers.. Trump learned that lesson many decades ago!!

Guess I should be grateful that SS didn't CUT their payments?????? but instead maintained level Whooo Hooo Lucky me

Personally OP.. I don't believe for ONE minute that SS Benefits will increase BEYOND COL IF even that happens.. The top 1% and others will make sure the lowly workers ONLY get what THEY deserve YA know that 1% a year increase!! SMH!!
