I doubt this is a paid job. Probably volunteer more than likely. Hospitals have these "cuddlers" in most of the NICUs and it certainly does help.

The animal shelter in our new hometown is recruiting volunteer "cat socializers" for felines awaiting adoption. DH & I plan to sign up.
