That was some people's experience. My '60s "flashbacks" involve "colorful" mortar and rocket attacks and getting generously hosed down with Agent Orange. That and the less than warm welcome I got from a less than grateful American public when I returned. The Summer of Love must have been great fun.

Me and three of my buddies swiped an outhouse that someone still had and took it to the town sguare of a neighboring small town about 3:00 in the morning. We tied it to the flag post rope and run it up the flag pole. When the sun came up people seen an outhouse instead of the flag in the air. There was no flag on the pole that night. That one made the local paper. That was about 1964. The old town constable was probably asleep and he still ain't caught us. Might be inclined to do it again for old times sake but there ain't no outhouses anymore and the town constable has been replaced with a sherriffs department. Don't know if I want ot mess with them.

Wow... Now how cool is that to actually see the Beach Boys on the beach. I went to see them a few years ago at a casino on the Gulfcoast. I remember looking around and saying to myself...wow all these older people like the Beach Boys too ...Amazing they are still performing. I'm guessing they look a little different from when you saw them lol...When the Beach "Boys" retire, I might have to start considering it lol...

I don't know if I really want to reveal too much from my wild youth... now that I'm retired, I finally have time to get involved in politics. Wouldn't want some foolish thing I did 48 years ago to keep me from being mayor...

or, senator?

or maybe even President???????? Hey, why not?

Normie, I doubt anyone cares what we did. Too long ago, and the crazy behaviors were too common . . . The best thing to do if there are embarrassing/funny/shocking moments in your past is to just reveal it all upfront and get it out of the way. Everyone who is over the age of 35 probably can think back and think of something he/she did that showed lack of good judgement when young. I think most people really do understand that.

So spill the beans!

well, normie. Look at what happened in my state , New York .
Now even the substitute for the Governor that was forced out is haunted by his past.

....and aren't you glad that there was no internet then so that there aren't any photographs to come back to scandalize you and mortify your kids?

I sure am, seeing as I dated a photographer for awhile! One of my more amazing moments was years later at an art show in Chicago, walking along Rush street with friends and there I was in all my glory!

My sister informed me recently do you know "he" has a huge website and fortunately for you, no pictures of you that I could tell! Actually I wish I hadn't thrown away those pictures in anger!

We frequented a lounge at the time in New Orleans...which was (appropriately) called the Village. We were attending college at LSUNO(now UNO), and we had been hearing about this thing called streaking that people were doing in other places. The Village had two doors, one in front and one in the back. Our plan was to run in the front door and of course...out the back. A simple hormone induced 20 year-olds well thought out plan lol. So 4 or 5 of us made it inside in the door, totally in the buff, with a bar full of people pointing and laughing, but when we got to the back door...we suddenly stopped. A huge padlock was on the door. The element of surprise was lost..but we somehow got turned around and looking more like deer in the headlights than streakers made it safely out the front door. We almost died laughing though...

Anyone remember anything wild or shocking they did in the 60's or 70's?
I graduated from high school in Summer 1964 in Los Angeles. Instead of experiencing the "free love" breaking out in California, I moved to Nebraska to go to college. Nebraskans are some of the nicest people on Earth, but a little on the conservative side. They likened California to a bowl of granola, once you take out the fruits and nuts, all you have left are the flakes.

Therefore, I feel like I skipped the 60's and got a double dose of the 50's.
Probably safer for me since I never needed antibiotics.
