Ok, so DH's last day will probably be Dec. 31st!!!
Definitely want to throw a retirement part, probably in May with about 75-100 people.
We decided on a local club, they have a private room, 80s music, and they will cater food. It's at a hotel, so people can stay over night if they want to drink and not drive.
Besides that I have no ideas, I can decorate with balloons and stuff.... but any other ideas on what to do to make it fun? I may do a picture show up on a wall, it's pretty loud there so not much can be done in the way of talking. I don't like "theme" parties where people are told to dress up.
I'm stumped.

Maybe for you, but we are rarely bored. Travel, golf, hiking, water sports, house projects, gym..... still won't be enough time in the day.

You lack imagination then. lol. I went back to work to get some rest from retirement. I'm doing two more years before I retire permanently. It will take me about 7 years just to get through my to do list.
I'll be the first to admit that I have no clue on the etiquette of parties but I don't get the retire on the 31st of December and have the party in May.
