Maybe next year, when our home is renovated, we will have a party, however, this year, we are staying in.
We saw a great movie today which is a treat for us (during the day) - Molly's Game (excellent).
Then, working for a while, then going home, having dinner and watching the ball drop. Hopefully, our 3 furry friends will be happy to see us!
Our son works as a restaurant manager in a very touristy area. The restaurant is booked solid until the 4th of January so I know he is having his headaches (no walk ins allowed). He is one of the managers.
If you go out, be gentle to people like my son. They're only doing their job and he tells the older people are the worst (no reservations, big tables, complain about everything, etc). He always me that he's glad I'm not like that!
I wish everyone a great 2018!
If 2017 was a sad year for you, my sincere condolences.
I work our community's New Tear's Eve show every year. They bring in national entertainment and do it all up well. It starts at 7:00 pm and ends before 10:00 pm.
And it was a beautiful day of 75 F and few clouds in the sky. Lunch was out on the patio with a few of the neighbors. We then went and took a tour of the San Xavier del Bac and stooped for an ice cream cone.
I have not worn my jacket since the cold spell ended on December 23rd.
We are having family over for cocktails in about an hour. At 11:30pm we will walk down to the palisades overlooking the Pacific Ocean( 2 blocks) for a gigantic fireworks display while sipping on champagne and eating our 12 grapes while wearing our yellow underwear!
That sounds really nice. I must have misplaced my invite
We're going to celebrate the New Year at Forlini's Restaurant,
a nice Italian Restaurant in NYC's Little Italy area.
I would never ever go to Times Square
plus..... it suppose to be real cold outside tonight. Brrrrrrrr
Not invited anywhere which is an improvement over last year when my disabled son (14) was un-invited as we were driving that way. He is Autistic & the hosts thought “there were too many kids there; he probably wouldn’t like it”.
I can take a hint.
My 16 year olds are going to a Robotics club party & staying the night so nobody has to drive with drunks on the road.
This year my son is fine with staying home. He is working on his script for “Luke’s Adventures: New Years Eve” an ongoing saga that he creates, illustrates, writes & “directs”.
Headed out to dinner with friends and then probably 2 clubs to see bands. Although we will probably be home before midnight. Not particularly cold or raining here (52° at 4:45pm and partly cloudy). I find that going out early and coming home before midnight means you miss the majority of the drunks and drunk drivers.
Besides, the New Year began 45 minutes ago by Greenwich Mean Time, the Oth longitude (Prime Meridian), so it is already tomorrow, lol.
That sounds really nice. I must have misplaced my invite
Still time! More people showed up then we had expected, so your'e all welcome!
