I remember when Marvin's "War... " came out and our country was stuck in Vietnam...... such an emotional time (for me). And I get that feeling every time I hear it.
One doesn't need to be born in 60s 70s to love music from that era. That music will always remain the best. We are all recycled souls so the music when good will continue to resonate and fascinate.
Few great ones: Dean Martin, Buddy Holly, the king Elvis, nat king Cole, Louis Armstrong, Ricky Nelson, Bing (Even earlier), Dorothy Moore.
I simply can't imagine listening to that kind music! I've never even heard of Dorothy Moore.
I remember listening to my mom's 45s when I was little. She had an Andrews Sisters 45 with 2 songs per side on it. I still remember what they were. Rum and Coca Cola, Begin the Beguine, Rancho Pillow, and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. So when the Andrews Sisters were on the Jimmy Dean show one night, I got to stay up and see them. I must have been about 9 or 10.
