Don't forget, the people where you retire to should think and do everything exactly like the place you're from.
And it has to be super cheap, but in a very nice neighborhood with no crime.
And there can be no HOA's, but you want to be able to dictate what others do with their homes and yards, and someone should take care of all the maintenance for free.

Well that's OK because I don't think you really want to be in Manhattan in July; way too warm and humid. And I remember when I was in Paris in August, every Parisien worth his salt left and headed to the beach. It was just like Paris had emptied right out in front of my nose. Only laughing at the folks who have a long laundry list of things they want in a perfect home that they expect to get for nothing .
There are so many things in this world that are truly tragic, and brutal. We need to be able to draw a deep breath, and be able to laugh at harmless things. Good hearted, kind humor is health to our bones, and all of our flesh, so indulge .
Sorry to hear that, mlulu. I'm glad you're keeping your sense of humor. From my own experience, it sure does come in handy.
