I keep hearing about rich people. At 65 years old, what constitutes being rich?

There are a lot of variables, but it would help if you could eat, have shelter, and decent medical care.

That would depend mostly upon what you believe being "rich" is, what life style you're used to, how much you've saved and what assets you have.

I've seen a couple living under a bridge that were much happier than some millionaires I know...

To me, being rich means being able to do and buy whatever you want without thinking of the repercussions it will cause to you budget.

A home that no one can take away from you. A good husband/wife good friends and health. Being able to look back on one's life with few regrets.

If you don't personally know them you don't know if this is the case.

People thought my grandparents were rich. Once they had both passed away if was found out that they really weren't. They were comfortable. My Grandfather thought he was rich and was proud of what he had. In his mind he was. My grandparents lived through the depression and their first house was a renovated chicken house. It's all relative. He worked hard and it got better from there. What defines rich?
