My brother was 5'8" for much of his adult life and was quite surprised to find that he's measuring 5'7" now that he's in his 60s.

From my last measurement at the Dr, I seem to have also lost an inch in height.

How much have you lost?

I've lost about 3/4 of an inch so far. I used to be close to close to 6'5" and now I measure exactly 6'4".

Surprisingly, none. I was 5'-4" in college and a few months ago my doctor measured me (at age 70) still at 5'-4". I'm not complaining!

Full disclosure: I currently weigh about 20 lbs more than I did in college. But I was too skinny then ...

I've been 6'4" since high school and I'm 6'3" now (I'm 66 year old). Darn you gravity!

1 & 1/2 inches. I made them check it twice because I've always been 5'5 & 1/2" & all of a sudden, I'm 5'4". How did that happen?

well from what I've seen at doctors' offices - weight and height measurements are not precise.

They will even weigh you while you are carrying your purse and with your shoes on. No subtracting for clothing either. They put that pull out height thing so that it barely or not even touches your head.

I was used to strict military measurements. Shoes off, 3lbs off minimum for clothing, that height stick thing pressed firmly on your skull. And the weight machine had to be calibrated.

I was 6'3" all my adult life. I'm 70 now. At age 65 I had both my knees replaced, and have been 6'2" since then. I figured it was due to the new knees. But maybe not.

My brother, 2 years younger, was always 6'4", and recently measured 6'3". His kness have not been replaced. So my loss of an inch may not be from that.

No complaints. I still have trouble getting in and out of the wife's car!

I'm 80 and I've lost an inch , 6 ft down to 5ft 11 in. I guess when I'm 160 I'll be down to 5 ft 10 in.
