I've been doing this^^^

Those I can identify I store in digital format, and put the family photos on
ancestry. But then, WTD with the originals? There still there, taking up space. suppose one day I will shred them. I would NEVER sell them on Ebay, or to a collector. Those are my ancestors, to be honored, not made into a sideshow

I had to clean out my parents home when my mother died. Oh my, I had to discard so many things that she thought were still valuable. I had an antiques dealer come and assess what was there and she bought quite a few pieces.

What I really love is old sterling flatware and serving pieces. How I wish my family had had a collection of that! I think it is still valuable to some people, and if you look on Ebay or Craigslist, it is not cheap to buy sets.

I am still looking for a complete set of Old Maryland Engraved (old style, not the newer sets). Maybe someday.....

This is a big issue for my parents' house. They live in a rural area. They're hoarders with several cats. Everyone's dream!

Just order a dumpster and start dumping.

Two days and done.

Thank you. It was a proud thing when they got the final stone finished and all was as he wanted. He wanted the Jewish star on the stone so "people will know that Jews fought back." I visited on Memorial Day week and the place was impeccable and so beautiful and well kept. Arneytown, NJ.

Or a huge bonfire, if allowed.

Hubby gave me a heavy wooden rocking chair for Christmas the year I was pregnant with our daughter. I want her to have it, especially now that she's pregnant with her first. She says she doesn't have the room.
