I think the pictures of the young women have always been airbrushed and doctored. In fact, I’ve read interviews with some of them who have admitted theirs were.

But I always figured airbrushing and makeup were something just taken for granted. Few people are actually born with as flawless skin as these women are made up to have. It’s just part of the fantasy. So why shouldn’t the older models be airbrushed and made up just as the younger ones? It just goes with the job.

I like to read articles of interviews with, or about, older women. They can be inspirational and serve as role models. They don't have to be just actresses. I mean all older, successful or famous women, in any field. It's very important for any group to be represented in media.

It's comparing apples to apples.

It's about time to showcase older women, using ALL the techniques that are used for 18 year olds. Funny how you didn't criticize pics of 18 to 25 year olds in Playboy as being "fake." Only the older woman. And so it is with some people who don't like older women or are jealous of the ones who stay looking good and in good health.

LMAO what a load of guano!

Pull yourself together. You're getting so emotional about Jane Seymour that you've forgotten the issue--and it's not young Playboy models who've been photoshopped for decades, or the fact that Jane Seymour looks good or is in good health.

A poster said that it was about time we started seeing people our own age represented in magazines , and that's what the response was to. Offering Elon Musk's mom, who shares the Face of Covergirl "title" with many (including a guy) does not address my point, on which I'll expond a bit-for you: that older people are not represented on TV or in print as users of the everday products for which they are, BTW, the target consumer.

As many have said or alluded to, as long as filters snd photoshopping are employed in a photo shoot that's promoted as "groundbreaking" because its subject is a 67-year-old woman, I'm not impressed.

We all have our standards.

You're wrong about the Jane Seymour long article and pics in Playboy being touted and promoted as 'groundbreaking'.
It has not been proclaimed, promoted, or touted as 'groundbreaking' anywhere. I read through dozens of news items and nowhere is it proclaimed or promoted as 'groundbreaking'.

I also do not share your concern "that older people are not represented on TV or in print as users of the everday products." I could not care less. I see no reason for it. Nor is it particularly important. (and not sure which everyday items you are referring to as they being the target consumer for - but that issue doesn't change my mind) It's such a small issue.

This article shows two of the Playboy pics and a nice article. Just providing it for those who may want to glance at the pics - who have not done so already.

Jane Seymour, and the other aging celebrity ladies represent the rest of us, and what can be achieved physically as we age. While most of us don't have the stardom, or the $ to go with it we can still be encouraged to see other older ones looking lovely. Pinterest has some amazing pages filled with older women doing the same thing. I love what they are all doing, creating their own style, both known, and "unknown" women everywhere. I applaud their efforts, and hope they never stop because I selfishly need the encouragement. Here is an example, there are many more. All older, all beautiful.

The real issue is that in this society older women have been discounted, insulted, and made to feel less than attractive, and desirable just because of our age. We are even attacked by other women which shouldn't be. If anybody understands what it is like it should be other women. In some societies the aged are actually honored, and respected.

Building each other up is so much better than tearing each other down wouldn't you say?

It is the world that we live in if you own a mobile phone or computer you have access to a lifetime's worth of free porn. There is no running away from that. Although I guess some people missed the implications of the technological revolution that allows sites like this one. This technology is what killed bookstores, magazine sales and stands and is killing the recorded music business. For those who bought Playboy as a socially acceptable form of porn instead of being seen going harder and buying a Hustler or going into the adult theatre or bookstore they no longer have to fear public disapproval of what they are doing because the public doesn't know.

It is why every web browser has a simple setting to delete history of what you were looking at. About the only stored porn would be those who depend upon a public wifi connection and that business had chosen to use a nanny filter. Otherwise it is out there as data around your head right now and even if the nanny filter is in place anyone might choose to use part of his plan's data limit and thus "buy" some porn. Leaving no trace after he had consumed it.

Sure I know many celebrities and up and coming actresses used the cleanest porn, Playboy magazine and later Maxim with a bikini on instead of totally nude, as part of their career marketing. That what was part of mainstreaming process and the public acceptance of porn that started in the late 50s and spiked first with hard core films in the early 70s again when VCR rentals at the mom and pop video store became available until we hit the era of free porn without a physical medium like a tape, magazine or disc to maintain. And finally we got to the ultimate extreme and the Kardashian clan empire being built on the base of Kim making a hard core porn scene.

I'm sorry you feel that way about me. I realize you don't know me, but I do have a phone and I know how to google porn sites (and might have even done that at some point) so...

Please, let's not get too far off track.
Lest the conversation devolve to the point of no return.....

It's still salvageable...so back to Jane Seymour....
Thanks.
