My wife turns 65 on Dec 15th. We will file for Medicare on (about) Sept 15th. Can you file to start SS on the same application but delay it until January instead of December?

It sounded like you can have it start no later than 4 months away if done on it's own. Just want to see if it's the same when doing a joint Medicare/SS application.

you tell them when to start ss on the application . just make sure when you want to start ss is 3 months or so from the start date .remember you do not get a check for the month you start , you get the check the following month after your start date
