All the time.

Yes, we live in Oregon.

I would guess that your memory loss is a combination of cannabis use and just plain, old aging. Plenty of senior people who don’t use pot have bad memories, too. I’m a medical patient and a daily user. I must say my short term memory has taken a hit. Not awful, but I write the important stuff down, always.

I've always done this. Practicing for old age perhaps?

Spot on. I have/had a similar health and habit mix. Mine was long period of alcoholism, hep, and then a regular mj smoker for many years.

First, let a doctor survey your health history and take liver function tests. And perhaps a liver biopsy if s/he thinks this is necessary. I have had quite a few liver biopsies in the past and before the hysterical hordes descend, they are more scary than they are painful.

I have had itching from narcotic medications, but never from mj.

Also, using something daily does not equal addiction. I use cannabis capsules every night for insomnia and have never had any problems with dependence or withdrawal symptoms. As a former cocaine user who had all kinds of trouble kicking the habit, I know from personal experience the difference between a substance that's addictive and one that isn't.....
This was my user experience as well. While I bought a Z of grass a month, it was never a thing I had to have before I could go out or whatever, and it was always used in a place and a slot of time when I could afford to be high for a few hours. When I decided to quit because of a really crushing schedule of volunteer work I went from a Z a month to nothing with no great problem.

Cocaine. A different story. Each time brought unpleasant withdrawal symptoms for hours, and yet it would pop into my head again and again despite that. And I would always snort all of what was available. What I recognized after a relatively brief time was that it goosed up my feelings the way alcohol had. And I had drunk booze right into the ground despite lost jobs, incidents of memory loss, and hangovers that became panic attacks, etc. etc. etc. Once it clicked that the cocaine rush was like the alcohol one I slammed on the brakes for good. And though my consumption was not heavy by many standards, it had been regular and the yearning and teeth-grinding for the first month or more were a recurrent problem.

My own experience post alcohol, mj and cocaine was that I reached a point with each (as with ending a big cigarette habit) where it didn't bother me if people around me were using it - whatever the "it" was. The biggest problem in that respect is that I would realize that a person or persons were quite drunk or very high well before they did because they lost the ability to really connect with someone who was not more or less at their same level of use at the time...and, of course, the situation then becomes very boring for me unless there were/are other people in the group who aren't using.

Memory worse in the evening is a classic symptom of dementia. They call it "Sundowning Syndrome." It's very common in the elderly.

If you want addictive, think tobacco. That stuff is horrible. I finally managed to quit for good in 1991, after 25 years as a smoker. Before that I quit three times. Just one cigarette was enough to snap me right back into addiction. I also had a doc get me addicted to Prozac once. Trust me, you don't want to cold turkey off a SSRI. You will get really sick. When I quit I had to taper for three months to finally kick the habit.
