I'm looking for a way to 'age,' without getting older. But, my body doesn't want to do as much and my mind seems to have sprung a leak.

Just scanned the article. Yes to a lot of what it says....given an ageing population there certainly need to be some changes in the social and physical environment to handle this smoothly.

But, I'm eighty. I am surely near the end of my ageing, so I live my life day by day in the social and physical environment in which I reside. And that's that. What is in the article is for and about people younger than myself....and yes, I have all the POA stuff, will, final requests made and with a lawyer.

So, time for a long walk before the hordes of cell phone babblers and stumblers hit the streets.

LOL Great for you! Too many 80 year olds just sit in their chairs waiting for the inevitable.

I'm a 55 yr old living in a 55+ community and I'm reminded by many 20+ yrs older than I am to ignore society's label on being old. That its just a number. Go about your day and forget that number and lead a productive life. I'll try to remember that advice, especially on those days when aches and pains hit.

Goal is to keep as physically fit as possible. Be mindful of my own personal safety (driving, crime around me). Keep up w/ tech changes (a big struggle for me - not into cell phones, texting, apps, etc). I think that we'll be seeing big changes in cars and technology (driverless cars) - that'll be a tough adjustment.

I don't walk so fast that the inevitable won't be able to catch up
