The last year or so I wake up somewhere between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. although I don't need to be up that early. So I do get tired during the day but as tired as I may be I can't fall asleep during the day. My mind goes into overdrive and the only way for me to fall asleep for a little while is to take an half of an anti-anxiety pill. However I don't want to start that habit so if nothing else, I'm off my feet for a little while.

Days I get up to play golf (2 to 3 days a weeks) at 9am, I get up at 6am and I always nap after golf. How long I nap depends on how much I drank after golf. Two to 3 drinks is a 3 hour nap. Less to drink is a one to two hour nap. The days I do not play golf, I get up 10amish and I do not nap.

I don't sleep well at night, so I used to NOT nap, figuring it would make me more sleepy come night time.

But now I take at least one if not two naps a day. My other half has always taken a nap every day since before we knew each other.

I only sleep about an hour or hour and a half, my OH sleeps for up to 4 hours for a nap.
I figure it this way: at least in getting SOME sleep somewhere along the way.

As I have gotten older the more I look forward to it.

Other wise I sleep at night for anout 3 hours, then I'm up 3 or 4 hours, then sleep 2 or 3 hours more.i never feel "well rested" (whatever that feels like as I've always been this way). Some periods I barely sleep an hour or two, and suffer being awake whike the world sleeps.

Ah, to sleep, perchance to dream....that is the question...

(Some times the only way I know I've slept is I wake out of a dream state).

Do you have similar experiences?

Naps are the new sex.

I needed naps when I was working and getting up at 5:30 a.m. - now that I am getting enough sleep, naps aren't needed.

I quit taking naps the day I did take one, woke up at dusk and thought it was dawn! I nearly panicked thinking I was going to be late for work. lol These days all I have to do is turn on the TV, get comfy in my recliner and I'm gone. I always worry I won't be able to sleep at night if I nap during the day so I've tried not to but, depending on the time of day, I don't think it matters.

Naps! It seems I take a lot of them, or at least one very long one.

I enjoy the sleep but it seems my life is slipping by without doing much or enjoying much else. It sort of comes with more body aches and pains than I've had before.

I'm hoping the two are not related.
I'm worried this is the rest of my life. I'm not happy about it.

I've seen my 18 month old grandson do that too.

Life is a circle.

I seldom nap, except when I am bored and want to move the day along. I think a nap might rob me of good nighttime sleep. But good for you!
