People still listen to CDs?! That is so 20th century.
There are so many different ways to play music in a new vehicle besides using a CD player. Any 20 something guy can tell you how to go about it. Or you could read your owner's manual. My 2016 Silverado and my wife's 2018 Outback both have CD players and we've never used them. I can't remember the last time I bought a CD, not to mention most places don't even sell them anymore.

This is the dino thread...no need to chastise your elders.

Which is yet another reason why I love Amazon so much.
I also buy books there. Real ones, with hard covers, and that you can put on shelves, and can read without having a blue light shining in your face keeping you awake.
And I even (sshhhhhh!) occasionally will write a letter. With a pen. On something made of paper. And put it in an envelope and send it through the mail.
Sorry, but it seems like throwing away money to have a CD player installed in the car. How many CDs do you really play in the car? You could have paid a kid $50 to convert your entire CD collection to MPs on a thumb drive.

Oh, the anachronism!
I remember writing letters when I was in Marine Corps bootcamp 45 years ago. That was probably the last time I did that.
Real books with real hard covers! Get out of here.
I’ve had a keyless entry since 2007, no problems with it ever. I programmed the driver’s side door so only it opens when I touch the handle, a nice safety feature for a woman alone. Touching the passenger side opens all four doors and the hatch. I love technology.
Our throwback car is DH’s 76 Mini: no AC, no radio and a choke. The car has a name and is part of the family. Love doesn’t have to make sense or be high tech.

Early-60s here, not some whippersnapper.... and yeah thumb drives are much handier for playing music (in cars or at home)...
you can make your own 'albums,' (leave out any tracks you don't like, put the songs in the order you prefer, etc.).
It's easy to extract songs on the PC and copy them to your thumb drive. And you could put your entire music collection on one drive...
so you could travel for days w/o playing the same tune twice.
Some "new" things really are worthwhile.
