my senior center does silver sneakers for everyone over 50 free of charge.... check with your own senior center. If they don't offer it, demand it!!!! AND: if your senior center in your town doesn't have even a small room dedicated to gym equipment, lobby like hell for your town council people to fork up some funds for one. You are NEVER too old to speak up, rally the troops, get someone to understand that increased participation in any kind of physical activity means lower statistics in dementia. Anyone gives you blow back on that? Make sure the town community center has a gym and has dedicated at least 8 hours a week to senior citizen time.

I'm just the opposite. I'm looking forward to ski season, when I'm outside & active 5 or 6 days/week (sometimes 7 days/week). My discipline breaks down in the warm months.
