JRR - Southeastern NC will be recovering from two major hurricanes in two years for some time to come. So many people across a huge part of the state have lost their homes and are only now returning, if at all. Wilmington seems to be well on its way back. Some beautiful old trees and houses were lost or critically damaged, but local businesses are rebounding and tourism has come back. It has been a heartbreaking experience, though amazing to see people come together to heal.

I'm placing a no-hurricane order for at least the next ten years.

We are down to sending about 7 cards (and getting about the same number in return). Not specifically Christmas cards, but happy holidays, happy New Year, happy solstice - usually I buy a small pack from a local paper artist and write a specific greeting for whomever it is going to.

Distant relatives (the ones I actually like) and old friends who aren't local and aren't on social media. When my in-laws were alive we sent cards to them as well.

I've rarely received holiday cards. I've never sent a holiday card, with the exception of those mass produced, Hallmark type cards. The list of people who get those type of mass produced cards has been diminishing.
