I have been purposefully losing down into the lower part of my maintenance range. I am aiming to limit weight gain. At the end of the holidays, I will still be below my maintenance limit for the win.

Some people may not wish to believe this, but FWIW I think drinking plenty of water has really helped me keep me from putting on weight.

I've read a few different reasons for this, some of which I believe, and some of which I think may be wishful thinking. All I know is it seems to work. You don't have to go to extremes, just make a point of drinking 8 oz and see if it helps. It's been helping me.

It seems to be pretty common for people to feel hungry when they really are just thirsty. IOW, sometimes when you feel like having a snack, a glass of water or something else with few or no calories will satisfy you. Even if it doesn't, you may find that less of whatever snack you have will satisfy you. What keeps you from putting on weight is not consuming more calories than you burn. Anything that makes it easier for you to accomplish that works.

Yes, so true, I am eating one meal a day (no snacking) and have become aware of the fact that I was eating when I should have been drinking some water.
