Twenty-five, twenty, or even fifteen-year-old trees look great!

I certainly don't want to go out the way my dad is going. He is 88 and gets out of bed, has a muffin with coffee sitting in his lift chair (he can't get into or out of a regular chair). Can't go anywhere, can't do anything. He sits and watches TV and if the weather is ok, goes outside and smokes cigars. He can't cook, do laundry, drive (no longer has car access). All but one of the guys he used to hang with have died. He has one grandson who comes by every 2nd or 3rd week and brings him a beer and a sandwich. Otherwise, he watches news, Price is Right, Jerry Springer and smokes cigars outside.
I dunno...if he's okay with it it then I don't see what's wrong with any of that. At least he can still get outside and has someone who visits him.

Too bad the sleeping pills available in the 60s aren't still available. Seems to me that Seconal would be the most pleasant way to go. Just go to sleep and don't wake up. I don't see why people can't have a choice at the end of their life.

My dad had cancer that had metastasized all over his body, including the bones of his skull, ribs, left arm, both legs, spine and pelvis. I know he was in unbearable pain, but he never told anyone; he just endured it. We actually didn't know till after he died that his cancer has spread everywhere.

But I will never forget what he said to me a week before he died: "If you get a chance to get out of that body, do it."

Mine didn’t tell any of her kids about her pain, but she did tell one close friend and that friend told us. But our religion doesn’t encourage suicide. But refusing any more treatment is acceptable way to go.

Yes, what a stupid thing to consider doing. Just take OD on a massive drug OD after leaving a note. Don’t take out someone with you.

I don’t think about how I will die. I know I will, and that’s enough.

Don't plan on an OD, where are you going to get enough of the right type of drugs to kill you?.....do you know a drug dealer? If you don't, who are you going to ask?....family or friends?....think they will set you up?

I don't think a lot of people, especially the elderly, have access to the right kinds of drugs, probably one of the reasons death by gun is so popular.....easy access.
