Physically?? no, lol I've got two bum knees. did have one replaced, trying to work on the other one.
Mentally? not sure what that means. I didn't murder any of the three millennials living in my house so that's a good thing.
Career wise. I'd say yes, I'm at the top of my pay grade and I got a bonus so all good.
Financially? lol, well the stock market is tanking but I've got no control over that. I had a lot of home repairs this year (had to get a new roof) and while I did plan for them, I always seem to hate writing a check.
Just Retired, it should make no difference whether you quit at the top of your game, slightly behind, or even failing due to disability. You are retired now and should be thinking ahead not behind.
Yes I was, when I retired in 2017 at the age of 61. I also had the best bosses and fellow employees for the last 5 years of my career. I retired because I had exceeded my financial goals, and because I wanted to get a part-time job and earn the remaining Medicare credits I needed (I was grandfathered into OPERS and did not pay into Medicare). I accomplished that goal this year.
I wanted to retire at the top of my game. There was also the thought that when things were going this well, the only change would be for the worse. I was given the opportunity this year to go back part-time, but ended up turning it down. My part-time job is as many hours as I want to work now.
Well I am still working. I work for Big Brothers Big Sisters and love my job. I just opened up a new school district and was hoping to get 5-6 Bigs and ended up with 18. So yes I am still on top and since I love my job and the flexibility it offers I will keep going. And hopefully keep on being a big contributor to growing the program.
