Last Laugh, with Richard Dreyfuss and Chevy Chase on Netflix is a winner. Richard Dreyfuss is especially good. I loved loved this move. So much.
Interesting. I had almost the exact opposition reaction to the movie, with the exception of Richard Dreyfuss. It's garnered mostly terrible reviews, but I watched the movie anyway because I've always loved Richard Dreyfus, and he is definitely the best part of the movie. I didn't think it was as bad as some of the worst reviews, but I don't think I could recommend it to others unless you were bored and had nothing better to do. As I wrote in another thread when this movie came up, if I had to sum up my feelings about the movie in one word, it would be meh. (If you can call that a word.)
The Leisure Seeker, with Helen Mirren & Donald Sutherland, is about a couple who head off in an RV. He has alzheimer's, she has cancer.
I think it's free if you have STARZ. I've not seen it and probably won't because they changed it so much from the book, which I loved.
I took it as a 'celebration' of aging in part because the theme is her taking control of their lives and destinies. The book was more upbeat than it was depressing. Don't know if that comes over in the movie or not.
I saw this, Wild in the Streets, when it came out: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063808/
What passes for "senior" was different back in the "never trust anyone over thirty" days.
I saw "Harold and Maude" when it came out (1971), and again recently. It felt quite different the second time; I didn't like it as much. But Ruth Gordon is such a treat I'm going to watch it again someday. Did you know her first film was in 1915?

This sounds really interesting. Too bad I don't have STARZ. Wonder if there's any other way to see it?

There's no reason to pay $12.99 (or anything whatsoever, for that matter) to see that movie. You can go to starz.com, sign up for a free one-week trial, and then watch it at anytime during that week.

Great tip! And as long as I have a week's wrth of watching, what other STARZ programs are good?

Thanks, it wouldn't have occurred to me to look on you tube. This looks like an interesting movie.
