Building things, especially interesting mechanical projects like my secret bookcase door. And, while I'm recovering, I've spent just as many wonderful hours planning future projects. Whole days can zip by planning out the details of what I'm going to do. Cycling, hiking, kayaking, when I feel like being active, or just sitting on a porch for a few hours, socializing when I dont feel like being active. Reading all the books in a series. Spontaneous day trips whenever the mood strikes. Going to all those lectures/concerts/workshops that local libraries and community centers hold that I never had time for before. Volunteering.

Reading to expand my knowledge of everything; read and learn new things to expand my bubble.

It's so easy now to learn everything!

I also periodically do trading to make a few more quick bucks.

Well, this is decidedly less ambitious than what previous posters have said ...

I love the mornings when I can sleep a little later, get up, have a cup or two of green tea, and leisurely surf the Internet for an hour or so. Not having to rush to get out the door is a blessing.

My favorite thing in the whole wide world is to float on water with a good book. Seems kind of shallow but it recharges my batteries.

I love people, places and things but engaging with them as an introvert requires refreshing alone time. I think that's my answer - having enough time to do the leisure things that restore me.

Ditto!!!!

As fellow workers asked, "But, what will you DO when retired?" . . . my reply was "I'll retire!!!!"

Thank goodness I'm not of the mindset that I have to "DO" anything!

Not setting an alarm clock.

Taking a nap. I don't do it often but sometimes when I settle in with a good book I fall asleep and it feels like such a luxury- couldn't do that during the workday. It's especially nice when I've had one of those mornings when I woke up at 5 AM or had some wakefulness in the middle of the night.
