Yeah, I assumed they'd come out here but they took the complaint over the phone, including the possible culprit's name, address, phone and place she's attending school. Got the case number.
Wonder if they'll talk to her or just file it away.

They have to investigate.
Maybe only to go ask her if she took it and to warn her against using your ID.
That alone may ( or may not) scare her into not using it.

Why would they? You have no evidence whatsoever that she took your ID. (At least none that you've relayed here.) You not being able to locate your ID and simply having a feeling that she took it is no reason for them to investigate anything.
Now if there's more to the story that you haven't told us, that could be different.
Tell the woman "My ID card has disappeared. You're the only person I can think of with the opportunity to have taken it. It's easy to replace, so no bid deal. I'm not accusing you, but you should know that your name will be mentioned if I am ever the victim of identity theft."
This is the best entry on this thread. Way to say it, Cebuan.

She made a bank deposit, part of which was cash, requiring an ID. The ID was in the deposit bag, but missing when she returned the bag. Two of my business debit cards were compromised also when she worked here, both now replaced. Unexplained charges, perfume.com and an app.

I'm entirely unsure where to post this. Please delete or repost elsewhere, if appropriate.
I believe a young women who works for me took my state-issued ID card. I have not accused her since I cannot be sure, but tapered off her hours and now she's really not working for me.
My question is: what mischief can be done with a state-issued photo ID? Assuming I'm right, and it was stolen, to what illegal use might it be put?
You seriously need to freeze your credit, yesterday.

OK, that's pretty strong suspicion. ID is never needed to deposit, so if she said it is, that is suspect. Then the two debit cards.
