OP glad you're doing well.

My dog had her umbilical hernia repaired when she got spayed. That's all I can contribute to this thread.

My daughter had this surgery to repair the hernia she got from carrying a normal sized baby inside her tiny little body! I don't think it changed her belly button, though.

Couple of years ago I was in a coma for 47 days and the nurses forgot/neglected to clean my belly button from day one. When I came to, I pulled out enough belly button lint to knit a XXXL Sweater and matching mittens.

A long-standing joke in our house is that if I had saved all the BB lint from DH's navel since we got married I'd have enough to stuff a cuddly toy (for his senility?)

Random thoughts on a rainy spring day -

Is there a record in Guinness for the World's largest collection?

Do fire baton twirlers who forget to clean run the risk of spontaneous combustion?

Could we start a trend of dying it silver and wearing it at the beach as a badge of maturity?

And a final thought, an ode to the stuff:

Belly Button Magic

Oh my beloved belly button.
The squidgy ring in my midriff mutton.
Your mystery is such tricky stuff:
Why are you so full of fluff?

I seem to remember hearing somewhere that researchers found bacteria inside navels that was found nowhere else on earth. I am too lazy to Google it right now.

Hey you asked.
Hey Dave, you've got me beat! I had surgery for colon cancer and it looks like I have a second belly button. I'm jealous. Well, maybe a little.

Dave and I are going to have to have a button competition. I have three, too.
