Just saw a movie in which a retiree sets her alarm clock for apparently no reason other than to wake up at a certain time, but doing such a thing would never even occur to me unless I had an early flight or appointment or something of that nature.
So . . . how many of you retirees still set an alarm clock? And if you do, why, and do you set it for every day, or what?
Nape -- unless, as you commented, I have to be somewhere.
I'm an early morning person by nature and years of having to set the alarm for 4:30 or 5:00 AM finds me getting up at that time every day anyway.
Plus one of the cats refuses to read the text I sent him about leaving me alone if I'm not awake by 5:00 AM
I also still have horses to care for so that means early to the barn to feed them, get them ready for turnout, then clean stalls.
That said, unless I have to be somewhere or I have cut pastures or mow, I am ready for a big nap by 11:00 AM. I record the noon news because I'm sure to be sleeping thru it, lol
My Nephew.7... His mom drops him off in the morning to catch the school bus from my house... He seem to think he need to wake me up to tell me he is here.
I wake up before sunrise so there is no point to an alarm.

On days when the stock market is open, I set my alarm for 7:45 so that I am up and have the coffee started by the market open. Weekends, no alarm unless there is some special circumstance.
Not going to set an alarm unless I have to be somewhere.
After years of living on five or six hours of sleep a night, I found that without an alarm clock, I naturally need about 7-1/2 hours. Nice to finally get that much.
