By the time you reach retirement, there are things you have done a staggering number of times.

For me, one is crossing county lines. The county line ran down Main Street in my home town, and for 11 years I crossed it every day going to school, and home for lunch. That would be 11x180x4=about 8,000, and at least 10,000 with miscellaneous non-school trips.

I've also been in every US county at least twice (there are 3,000) so that's another 6,000, with lots more nearby ones done dozens of times, so say 8,000.

So Ive crossed a county line naybe 18,000 times in 80 years -- good thing a passport stamp is not needed.

What have the oddities of your long life led you to do a prodigious number of times?

I've crossed a state line every working day for almost 24 years. That's roughly 5,000 times.

During that same trip, I go through 4 different counties, so multiply that by 4 to get how many times I have crossed county lines just getting back and forth to work.

I have done all this on public transportation.

I have crossed the Florida/Georgia border each day twice for the last thirty years (three to go). I live on a small coastal barrier island and don’t plan on ever going over the bridge once I retire

Where are you RVing TBMorgan?

LOL I was just saying something along these lines this morning. We went kayaking at sunrise to get photos of bald eagles on Memorial Day. I must have a few thousand of these shots. I don't do anything with them, but I sure enjoy taking them. Not sure how that got to be a "thing" that we do, but Memorial Day wouldn't be the same if we didn't get up for the yearly eagle photos.
