Sounds wonderful and be sure to wear an approved helmet at all times when you are on the horse.

We have a cool equine assisted therapy site in Tennessee called Mane Support. It's well-supported by the community in both time and money, because it serves children who need grief counseling. People swear by it. Good for you, brightdogandhorselover

I've got one and am required to wear it when working with the therapeutic riding. For the slow trail... my Stetson... Yeah, I know.

Not sure you do know. Easy to have a fatal head injury falling off even a bomb proof horse. I have lost someone that way.

Yes, I do know, among other horse friends. I didn't mean that I think any horse is bomb-proof. I know that any riding should have a helmet on. I don't back out of the driveway without my seat belt. I know this stuff. Just don't know how much I will observe what I know.

I have seen thousands of people on horseback. Never saw anyone wearing a helmet at least not in the Western half of the US. Do they also have seat belts?

Let's not forget airbags that automatically deploy on either side when a fall is detected.

You go out west and almost no one wears a helmut unless its bull riding etc. Western riders dont have a higher rate of head injuries than english riders.
