Not pushing up daisies, yet, but been outside planting daisies. Tomatoes, squash, and beans, too.

Nothing stays the same forever. I’ve been lurking on this forum since 2008 and there’s been quite a bit of change in posters. People seem more mellow than a few years ago.

Weather and obviously the weekend has something to do with it. I rarely post on the weekend, but I often do when I work during the week. I post more in the winter than summer.

With that said, message boards are sort of a dying medium in a world of Facebook and Twitter.

Lots of C-D retirement forum energy, ideas, and contribution died when the most popular thread was deleted. (not just locked, but deleted... ) representing 10,s of thousands of hours and great posts (highly valuable content within the primary purpose of C-D deliverable) ... ideas...relationships ... POOF, GONE! (By the choice of ONE)

I can recall 5 frequent posters who have actual died. likely many more, All of us sooner than we think.

Be ready.

I thought it was the other way around. Facebook is dying at least. It’s a forum for geezers to post pictures and such. I don’t have an account even.

Facebook can be great for special interests such as jazz - where posts about jazz and the New York City jazz scene and videos of jazz club performances in NYC and around the world are posted, and one follows a multitude of jazz artists based in the NYC jazz clubs, but who also perform internationally.

And Facebook Live is great for live music performance of jazz artists - all free - including the Jazz at Lincoln Center concerts.

Many discussions in the retirement forum that would typically take place in the retirement forums on other retirement forum websites don’t here ....

On other websites like the very very active ,financially independent ,early retirement forum , the one sponsored by the firecalc creators the discussions usually center around actual numbers ....numbers are discussed freely all the time ...it is a fabulous place for exchanging thoughts and ideas and bettering ones self and the plan ...it has many very very smart contributors .

Here the make up of the forum is very different.. many of the articles posted are about how bad supposedly everyone is doing or how little people have saved ...those who discuss numbers are beat up or called braggarts ...unlike other forums like I mentioned where everyone is there to learn and do better here it is a mixed back .

So it is hard to have a lot of discussions about retirement planning here just because few really want to get jumped on .. so discussions here are usually superficial and not very specific because few want to disclose much like on other forums.....
