And remained married. I can think of two couples who are our retirement age who did and very possibly never dated anyone else.

Smile Several

I had a big high school (1100 graduates) and I'd say about 20 couples still married to their high school boyfriend/girlfriend.

My husband's school has even more out of Miami, FL - tons still married. They all got up on stage at the 40th reunion.

Also a big class for his - but not as big as mine.

Smile Actually-

My first boyfriend went on to marry - and still with her - the girl he dated right after me.

He became an architect and did the plans for one of my homes.

My kids said to me one day "Mommy, he's really nice but I'm glad you married Daddy!"

(We stilll laugh about it).

I'm glad I didn't marry my high school boyfriend.

I think the conviction for possession of child pornography says it all.

At 17 I was probably already too old for him, anyway.

Glad I didn't marry mine too! He ended up in prison for robbery and murder. Probably still there, if he's still alive.

At our 50th reunion I saw a surprising number of people from high school who married shortly after graduation and are still married. Well, a lot are now widows/widowers since it's been nearly 60 years but there ARE still couples married. I was surprised there were so few divorces but a couple of us more than made up for the ones who didn't! lol Actually I'm thinking more have died than are still married. On Facebook there's a group from my high school that lists all the people from different years who are gone. A LOT.

I did not stay married, but I have MANY high school couple friends who did (five or six couples I can think of - probably many more).
