Never used or needed the stuff. I need to protect the few good working brain cells I still have, although these days maybe I shouldn't be so concerned about staying lucid.
I had fun smoking pot 50 years ago. I have better things to do with my time now.
My observations is that friends who use "medical" marijuana would not be using it if it didn't also give them a buzz. Kind of like drinking fine wine - I suspect most people wouldn't drink wine if it had no ethanol in it.

Real medical users tend to go for CBD oil or cannabis with lower THC and higher CBD levels. Some believe they need to use some strains with both CBD & THC in varying percentages, because they believe in the synergistic effects of using in using THC & CBD in proportionate amounts.
I agree. I use it right before bed for pain so I can get to sleep. During waking hours I put up with the pain because I don't want to spend my time stoned. On rare occasions, when the pain is horrendous, I will break down and smoke during the day, but I won't go out if I do. And for the same reason I will sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and smoke more.
When I say smoke more that's one hit. Before bed as well. Just one hit. To be honest my one hit is probably 3 or 4 for another person. I learned the proper way to take a hit a long time ago.
This from a full-fledged '60's Hippie stoner. Whoda thunk?
I believe in the synergistic effect of using CBD and THC together. Source: Personal experimentation.
When I finally retire, i'll give it a try. At that point, I just won't care anymore about stigma and such.
It's legal here in MA. Just last week I was golfing and pulled into the lot of an upscale golf course to see a few retirees smoking MJ before heading in for a round of golf.
20 more years before I get there....until then, I don't do the stuff. I tried it a few times in college. Wasn't bad.
