Are you wining? How sweet!

I thought for a moment that the thread was for Mormon missionaries. I'd be interested in finding what goes on internally there ...

...hmmm, maybe not THAT interested.

I sometimes have a challenge deciding if my mental state is Vermont or Alabama. Pretty sure it is no longer Florida, and I can't afford the mental taxation of having a mental state in New York.

If you asked me this question prior to July 2, I would have said life is good. But our 8 year old grand daughter died in her sleep on July 2. So I’m not doing so well

That is my mental state

Oh, Mr5150, how awful! I'm so sorry for your loss - your family must be devastated.

How absolutely horrible. I can't even imagine what you're going through. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Oh my goodness! How tragic. I can't even imagine how you and your family are feeling. What a blow.

I am wishing you peace!

After a lifetime of experiences, what is your current state of happiness and mental wellness?

Are you a good coper? Have you always been resilient?

Maybe you have had an easy life with few traumas.

Maybe you have been through the wringer.

How are you doing now after all of it?

Current state is ridiculously happy.

I've have had to cope, all throughout my life, with illness and death of loved ones (who doesn't). At my age now, after all of these prolonged illnesses and deaths of loved ones, I consider a good day to be any day that doesn't involve a hospital or a funeral. If no one is sick or dying, I'm perfectly happy.

I know what you mean about POC. I go there because I feel like I am taking the pulse of the country but it can be shocking and depressing. It really should come with a warning label "May be bad for your mental health". Haha.

As to my mental state -- I feel like I have had a great life. Done a lot of amazing things. But it is winding down which results in some reflection. I worry about the next generations and the problems they will face. I feel like they have a more challenging world than we did. DW and I recently redid our will and earmarked a big chunk of money for various causes that I hope will help.

WTF! Is there a life point I am missing? Aches and pains with aging sure but I thought we retired for good feelings.

Your lack of awareness is quite astounding.

Who is this "we" to which you refer?
