That might be where the term "Drama Queen" came from. I admit that some of those stories were horrific. I remember one where the woman's daughter was partially eaten by a pig.

"The Millionaire" was also contrived into morality plays or some tear-jerker outcome.

I remember The Millionaire well. In the morning it was Captain Kangaroo followed by Art Linkletter then Queen for a Day where some down and out housewife received a free washing machine then The Millionaire, Highway Patrol and Whirlybirds. The Three Stooges too but I wasn't allowed to watch that.

For us.
$1M would go straight into a Fidelity index fund.
And, the we would go to Europe for another 3 weeks.
